What to Do After Being Sexually Assaulted

It’s hard to know what to think, let alone what to do after you have been sexually assaulted.

The first thing to consider is whether or not you are safe from any immediate danger. If this is not the case, call 9-1-1 immediately.

It is important to remember that as a victim of sexual violence, this was not your fault and you are not alone. Please, reach out to someone you trust for help during this time in order to not feel alone.

It’s also important to constantly remind yourself that this was not your fault and you did not want this to happen.

Contact a local support organization to aid you with your options moving forward, such as obtaining medical attention, reporting options, and more.
