For most people, holiday shopping puts a huge dent in an already stretched budget. But for those who want to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas, consider the gift of volunteering to help our clients find a way to have some sense of holiday celebration.

At OneEighty, our residential and outpatient clients who have been impacted by crisis, violence and tragedy are putting all their energy into reimagining and rebuilding their lives. Here are some ways you can help paint a different holiday picture for them and their families.

OneEighty’s Holiday Program

For the past nine years, this program of donated presents and volunteer staffing has brightened the holidays for 592 children and 383 adults. In 2020, our supporters helped 102 children engage in programming at Julia’s Place (Emergency Shelter), our Residential Treatment Facilities, our transitional houses, as well as our outpatient clients and their children.

How It Works

Participants must meet specific eligibility requirements and be recommended by a direct service staff employee:

  • Children must be 0-17 years old
  • Client is currently experiencing a financial hardship and unable to provide holiday gifts to their children
  • Client is not currently enrolled in another holiday gift donation program or prepared to provide gifts by other means

Who and How You Can Help

You, your company, your club, your school, your church, or any other organization can volunteer to do one of the following:

  • Purchase gifts
  • Sort gifts
  • Help clients shop and wrap gifts for their families on December 15th

Gift Selection

Monetary gifts, gift cards, toys, clothing, and personal care items are all appreciated. Just knowing that our community cares about them has shown to have an unbelievable impact on our families!
